The city

Brasília lies on the heart of Brazilian savannas. The capital of Brazil , a melting pot with residents from all Brazilian regions and different countries, was built and inaugurated by President Juscelino Kubitschek in 1960, after four years of construction. The first building erected in the new capital was the Catetinho Palace, built entirely of wood, which served as the official temporary residence of President JK until the construction of Palácio da Alvorada (Palace of the Dawn). In 1987, UUNESCO declared Brasilia part of the world's heritage. Geographically, it is located in the Brazilian countryside, built in the shape of an airplane, 1,100 meters above sea level. Its palaces, cathedral, monuments, museums, Paranoá Lake, parks are all unique attractions. Moreover, the mysticism of Brasília is interesting as well. The capital is surrounded by one of the richest ecosystems of Brazil, with caves, waterfalls, open fields and valleys of impressive beauty. A visit to Brasília is a must for anyone who wishes to become acquainted with Brazil.
